Automatic Downloader/Updater for Project CARS 2

If you have purchased into the Project CARS 2 development, as I have, then you will know that in its infancy the game can be rather annoying to keep updated! Every build must be downloaded individually, with periodic clean installs required. It can be a hassle to keep up with what version you have, what version you need, and the correct path to get there. Not anymore!

Of course SMS will be making their own streamlined process for updates, and then later on the game will be updated through Steam, but what about the here and now? Check out the Project CARS 2 ATDIU (Automatic Torrent Downloader, Installer and Updater)!

Project CARS ATDIU was developed by Teemu Kosinen and Thomas Taschler from sga-gaming.com. I've been using it for weeks now, and it's been fantastic. A must have for any pCARS2 tester until a more official solution is released.

Project CARS - Setting up X360 Controller w/ Stock Calibration and Driving!

There has been a lot of talk saying Project CARS is complete rubbish with a controller. I've even had some people accuse me of driving with a wheel in video's I'd said I'm driving with my X360 controller. In this video I clearly, and definitively prove that Project CARS works absolutely fine with a controller and no assists. I start the video by setting up the buttons on the controller, showing I did not change any of the calibrations, and then showing that the game is set to realistic damage and driving physics.

I then take three laps around Watkins Glen GP in the E30 M3, a car with no electrical assists. After the race, I exit back out, and show you again the controller that I use, and the realism settings, to leave no shadow of a doubt that this, and other video's on my channel were clearly using the X360 controller. It's a harsh reality, but inability to drive a car in game with a controller boils down to either lack of skill, or a worn out controller. In the case of the latter, you can use deadzones to greatly improve your drive. For the former, just practice smooth application of the throttle and brakes.

One of Ferris Bueller's Friend's Dad's Cars is For Sale!

If you have a cool $125k sitting around, this is your opportunity to look like a multi-millionaire! The real 250 GT California Spyder would set you back about $7,000,000, so this car is a steal! Recreated in such accurate detail, the cars builder was given a cease and desist letter by Ferrari, and only 11 cars were ever made! This is a two owner car, and I sure wish I had the cash to pick it up!

Automation Has Finally Come to Steam!!

I've been playing Automation for a long time... since before build 199, when I uploaded my very first Automation video to YouTube. The game has undergone a lot of changes since then, but all of them positive! Back when I started playing, you only had an engine builder, and not even that many options! You had I4, and V8, that's it. No turbo's, no cars, nothing. I still loved the game then.

I've had the opportunity to see the game grow from that, to having turbochargers, to having a rudimentary chassis builder, to having an advanced car builder, to being released on Steam as a fully featured car engineering simulator!

Sure, there's still a lot that isn't available yet, the tycoon side of the game is just not starting to be developed, but I've already got my moneys worth from the game! I've played it probably hundreds of hours before it even got on Steam, and I'll be sure to play it hundreds more as it is developed even further!

This is an Early Access title you can trust. It has been faithfully developed for over two years now, and the updates are coming regularly, with awesome results every time! This might never be a blockbuster game, but for those of us who dream of building our own cars, it is a godsend.

If you, like me, has wished for a game where you could design your own car, or a modern version of the old game Detroit, then it is your civic duty to buy this game and support it! Despite this not being a cash cow genre, the developers have dedicated their lives to making this game a success, and they deserve to prosper for their efforts! They are supporting our dreams to be creative, so we should support them!

PKW Racing on Watkins Glen in Formula Gulf on Wet Tires!!

This is a recording of the first PKW Racing event of the new year! We have played some other games, but this was our first run in Project CARS of the year!

I was able to win this race, although there was some trouble after a couple laps. I kind of felt bad starting in first place, but we didn't have a qualifying run so luck of the draw put me there.

Not sure why we were running on wet tires, must be some kind of bug in this current build. It was pretty crazy though! The tires were running super hot pretty much the whole race, and it was interesting at times to keep the car on the road! Lots of down force helped, though.

It was a close race! Paulbfc and Kamalski were running with me, along with some AI at roughly 60%. I think I accidentally bumped Kamalski off the road towards the end of the race, but until then he was right there with us! Could have been a different result if it weren't for my blunder. Paulbfc was less than a second behind me when we crossed the finish line. It was an awesome race! Very aggressive, but mostly clean.

Blowing Up an Aston V12 Vantage GT3!!!

I really was driving like a complete hooligan during this race, bumping the walls, bumping other cars, way too aggressive for such a tight track. I shouldn't have been so surprised when my engine blew up. After the first couple laps, I had mostly secured myself 7th place, and toned it back a bit, but not before nudging the wall one last time.

My temperature started immediately rising, I made it around almost exactly one more lap, and at 143 degrees, my car gave out. You can see the external damage much better in the spectator view.

Moral of the story, don't drive crazy, and watch your gauges!

It's True, Project CARS was Delayed Till April 2nd

Yes, it's true, Project CARS has been delayed again, as can be seen in the link below, but stress not! The delay is only an additional two weeks! You could use this time to learn how to ride a bicycle, take knitting classes, learn a foreign language, get a girlfriend, and feel sorry for people like me who are already enslaved to the goodness that is Project CARS.

So consider this extra two weeks development time a gift! Your life will no longer be your own on April 2nd. ;)

Project CARS - Swapping Drivers During Pit Stops & Blowing Up an Engine!

Here are a few interesting video's I've made in the past week or so, they maybe of interest to you! The first demonstrates the ability to swap drivers during a pit stop, this will be useful in the very long races, such as 24 Hours of Le Mans. The second video, I blow up the engine of an Aston Martin... basically just demonstrating that the game does not tolerate wreckless driving. Finally, I've made a new preview of all the camera's in the game. Enjoy!

Assetto Corsa - Your Racing Simulator... FOR MODS!

Now, I realize not everyone is into mods. I'm on the fence, personally. I love well made mods, but I hate how hard they made it joining multiplayer games in RACE 07, GTR2 and similar titles. Because of this, (and the fact that Project CARS has a ton of developer made content) I am fine with the fact that Project CARS will not officially support mods. Assetto Corsa, on the other hand, not only supports mods, but embraces them. And I'm happy with that too! I haven't really gotten into multiplayer in AC, and don't plan on it, so I don't care if mods make joining multiplayer games harder. (Though I'm not sure if it even makes a difference anyway, maybe it doesn't.)

Assetto Corsa has gotten much better with the physics of all the developer cars since it was officially released. For this post, I'm going to list some video's from some of my favorite AC mods. The links to those mods is in the video description of all the video's, so if you really like the mod, open the video in YouTube and you will have access to all the links you need!

427 Shelby Cobra
This car is now on the official car list of Assetto Corsa, but at the time of this video it was one of the best mods available for the game!

Corvette C6R at Golf Course
This car has been updated since this video, but it was already looking great.

Reliant Robin
This car is crazy! Very hard to drive, but fun, in a stupid silly way.

1981 Datsun 720 KC Drift
A fun little pickup truck for those of you who like driving them.

VAZ-2106 at '75 Nordschleife
The VAZ is another silly fun car, at a classic track.

Broadspeed Jaguar XJ12C at Junealillo Hill Climb
The Jag is amazing, as far as big cars are concerned, and the Junealillo Hill Climb is a very fun, technical course.

'92 Honda NSX-R at Glava Zete Hill Climb
The NSX-R is a fantastically balanced car, and Glava Zete is one of the nicest looking mod tracks in the game.

Tesla S P85+
A little bit of a weird car, needs some sound added to it, but interesting to drive, if electric cars are your thing.

Lake Louise
Another one of the truly great mods available for Assetto Corsa! The next version will offer many alternative route's, but the current route is amazing on its own.

'90 Honda NSX at Transfagarasan North
The standard NSX is another excellent handling car, but this track is probably the most epic mod for the game.

Lamborghini Miura
Like the Shelby Cobra before it, this mod will be coming to the official car list soon! They did an excellent job on it, and it is sure to get better once it is officially added to the game.

Herbie at Green Coast Circuit
Yes, even Herbie has made its way into the game! Green Coast Circuit is a great drift track (though that's not really my thing) it's fun to drive otherwise as well, though the foliage is not abundant.

Luccaring (Circuito de' Baluardi)
This track was modeled after the creators home town, and it's a great job! The circuit is fictional, but the roads are all based on real roads.

'99 Mini Rover at Glava Zete Hill Climb
The Mini Rover is by far my favorite FWD car in the game! It's slow as heck, but a lot of fun anyway, at least on a technical track.

BeamNG.Drive Game Review

When I played the game with my X-360 controller, I thought it was neat. The damage physics, the way the suspension moves, the way the body rolls with bumps is just amazing. This game has the best soft-body physics I've seen in any game. When I really fell in love with the game, as you can see in the above video, is when I hooked my Logitech G27 up to it. Wow! The off-road handling is fantastic with a wheel. In my mind, this game is the spiritual successor to the original 1nsane. Of course it doesn't have any of the game modes (it is in alpha) but I've never had this much fun driving off road in a game before. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes driving off-road, and has an FFB wheel laying around. You dont need a G27 to enjoy the game, even a $50 Driving Force Pro would work great with it.

In addition to all the above, the game has a strong, and quickly growing mod community. The first video I have listed below uses a Crown Vic police car mod that I downloaded from the official game forums.

The next video shows all the officially supported vehicles in the game, and the mods available for them.

So if you don't have the game yet, you owe it to yourself to check it out!

Project CARS Artificial Intelligence at 100%, as of Build 887

For a long time, the AI in Project CARS was not one of it's strong points. AI were rather slow, and made a point of ramming into the player controlled car, as well as each other. Thankfully, that's now starting to change! It used to be virtually impossible to play with the AI at 100%, but they are now shaping up, holding a decent line, not murdering the player at every opportunity, and still pretty quick! Below are some video's I made (same race, different views) to show how the AI is behaving now. There's still room for improvement, but they are vastly improved over how they used to be. Enjoy!

Get Project CARS for FREE!!

Project CARS will be released in the US on March 17th, and March 20th in Europe. Because of this, the promotion will run through March 20th.

No purchase is necessary to enter this contest, all you must do is publicly subscribe to this channel, and preferably, watch a bunch of the channel video’s! This channel is mostly for gaming. I generally upload video’s from whatever game I am currently playing, though Project CARS is a rather consistent star on the show. When I watch other gameplay video’s, I usually just want to see the game, and get annoyed by the pointless voice-over that many channels use. Because of this, the majority of my video’s are commentary free. I try to use other methods to communicate to my audience, and in the case of games like Project CARS, they really speak for themselves. I do use commentary on some video’s, such as this one, when I feel it adds value.

The reason your subscription must be public is because there is no other way for me to see that you subscribed to my channel. If I can’t see you, I can’t throw your name into the raffle, and if you aren’t in the raffle you can’t win.

If the channel has 800 total subscribers by March 20th, one subscriber will be randomly selected to get a gift copy of Project CARS through Steam. At 1400 members, two subscribers will receive the game for free, and at 2000 subscribers, 5 will be selected to receive the game for free! The game will be purchased through my personal Steam account, and gifted to you directly by me, so you must be willing to accept trades to receive the gift.

I am located in the USA, so the gift copy of the game will be from that region. Because of this, the promotion can only officially be open to people in countries that can accept game trades from the USA. I don’t think there would be any issues with redeeming the game in any other territories, so the raffle will include everybody on the subscribers list, and trades will be attempted with all winners. On the off chance that a trade is not possible with one of the winners, then another winner will be selected in their place.

Within a week of the contest ending, a new video will be posted announcing the results of the promotion, and the subscriber(s) who will receive the game. The winning subscriber(s) will also be personally contacted through their YouTube accounts discussion board. The winner(s) should reply within a week of the new video being posted, so arrangements can be made to get the game to you.

I reserve the right to change the details of the promotion as needed for unforeseen circumstances that may turn up. The prizes and promotion goals will remain the same. Please post any additional questions in the comment section.
